LOFT has examined the ground redevelopment plans submitted by Leyton Orient Football Club. The key features of the developments are as follows:

THE IMMEDIATE PLANS

• Demolition of north terrace and west stand, to be replaced by 2,402-seat West Stand (with space for 30 disabled supporters and 50 carers) and 1,464-seat North Stand (for away fans)
• Four residential blocks of flats, five-storeys high at the Windsor Road end and up to seven storeys high at the Coronation Gardens end. Eight lettable areas for offices, commerce etc included.

• New East Stand, similar to new West Stand, seating 2,402 people, with 15 spaces for disabled spectators and 15 carers (two more 'lettable areas').

WEST STAND:

• To contain four 'floors' - the diagrams show a roof around twice the size of the South Stand roof with a considerable gap between the roof and the spectators' seats, to accommodate the various anciliary facilities (offices, bars, corporate hospitality areas and other lettable outlets). The proposed East Stand would look broadly similar.
• Lower ground floor to include merchandising shop, concourse, semi-underground car park for 31 cars, new changing rooms refreshment bars, moat-level access to seats (a la South Stand); upper ground floor to incude supporters club, ticket office and merchandising outlet.
• First floor: LOCSP offices, club HQ.
• Second floor: function and corporate rooms, plus open plan learning area developed with University of East London.
• Third floor: LOFC executive club, 2 more lettable areas.
• Fourth floor: large open plan lettable area

• Police and control rooms, plus a service road behind it, with controlled access only during working hours, and access to turnstiles.
