O's legends back LOFT
7/11/2016

LOFT's membership is growing daily, as more and more Orient fans respond to the way Leyton Orient Football Club is being run.

These include a number of ex-Orient players who have added their names to LOFT's cause. Among them, over 25 and counting, are Peter Kitchen, Steve Castle, Kevin Hales, Darren Purse and Robert Taylor.

Several other Orient legends have kindly agreed to give LOFT their public backing:

Former O's full back and free kick maestro, 'Oooh' Terry Howard:

"Leyton Orient is a club very close to my heart. Even twenty years on from leaving, it is extremely sad to see the club in such a position and I feel desperately sorry for all the fans and friends I made at the O's during my time there.

I have recently joined the supporters' trust and feel honoured for the invite. If my membership can help in some small way to keep the club from further distress then it is well worth my joining and I urge all my friends at Brisbane Road to do the same. Keep your heads up O's fans!

Oooh Terry Howard"

From another ex-Orient full back, and penalty kick wizard, Matt Lockwood:

"I joined LOFT to show my support for a club I hold very close to my heart. I had 9 memorable years at Orient and in that time the club changed dramatically for the better. When Barry Hearn sold the club, Orient were a penalty shoot out away from being a Championship club. Two and a half years on, Orient are staring down the barrel of going out of the Football League.

There is only one reason this has happened and we all know what or should I say who that problem is. We need to get our club back before its too late!!"

And finally, from the battling centre back who captained Leyton Orient to their last promotion and who recently accepted our invitation to become a LOFT external director, John Mackie:

"I'm honoured to be asked to be involved with LOFT. No Orient fans need me to explain what the club means to me and captaining the side to promotion back in 2006 was one of the proudest moments of my life, not just my career.

I remember Orient as a stable well run club where everyone had a part to play and it is sad to see what is happening there now.
I'd like nothing more than to see the club back where it should be, competing for a place in the Championship, and whether it is LOFT or someone else, I would support anyone who can change the direction the club is heading now."

Welcome to all our new members, whether famous or not; with each new member, our voice grows louder as we say: We Want Our Club Back!
