Commentary for the Blind
8/4/2003

August 2001

Leyton Orient Fans' Trust (LOFT), in conjunction with the nationally-acclaimed Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme, have launched a scheme offering commentary for the blind and partially sighted at Leyton Orient's home fixtures this season.

Volunteers from the LOFT group will provide commentary for six blind or partially sighted people at each home match. Entrance will be free for those people using the scheme.

LOCSP and LOFT are working with local blind schools and organisations, as well as the voluntary organisations and local Social Services, to find supporters and potential supporters who may benefit from the venture. It is possible to extend the scheme to away games as well if the need arises.

If you, or anyone you know, are interested in using this scheme, please email community@leytonorientfanstrust.com, or ring LOFT on 07944 954771.

More information about the Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme is available on their website at www.locsp.freeserve.co.uk

UPDATE! We are pleased to announce that this scheme is open to away fans as well as home fans.

FURTHER UPDATE! This facility can now use the commentary from Orient World.
