Charlton tickets - LOFT welcomes apology from Club
1/17/2006

LOFT welcomes yesterday's apology to season ticket holders from Leyton Orient FC, in respect of the handling of tickets for Orient's FA Cup 4th Round tie at Charlton Athletic.

We contacted the club on our members' behalf (and, indeed, on behalf of all Orient fans) shortly after Saturday's game, when it became clear that the situation had not changed since the previous evening's update.

We have asked the club why certain decisions were made over the allocation of tickets, and why, when it became apparent how quickly the tickets were selling, sales were not halted, or a number of tickets were not kept back until Saturday.

Whilst welcoming the club's subsequent apology, we hope that the club will explain its decisions once it has done all it can to secure enough extra tickets, and allow Orient's most devoted supporters to cheer on the O's at the Valley.

Update: BBC Radio 5 Live contacted LOFT the day after this story was posted, to ask if we would particpate in a discussion about the ticketing situation. We were advised by 5 Live that the club were also going to be asked to participate, but shortly prior to going on air we were told that they had declined to take part. An MP3 recording of the broadcast is available here.
